The Artist Manifesto

Let me ask you a question, artist to artist.

What kind of world do you want to live in?

Me, I want to live in a world where ideas and beauty are valued, a world where talent and effort are rewarded, a world where art is celebrated.

Where craft is practiced and revered.

I want to live in a world where everyone, everyone, is able to participate in art, whether as a creator or a viewer, and they’re allowed to feel confident in their unique connection to the work without fear of being judged.

A world where elitism doesn’t exist, but beauty is allowed to whisper to everyone in all her guises.

I want to live in a world where artists take responsibility for their work and they use it to make the world a more beautiful place.

A world where it’s understood that an artist’s worth is equal to what they give and not how much they earn.

I want to live in a world where artists are celebrated and even known in popular culture, and that they choose to use their fame to lead.

I want to live in a world where artists see one another as colleagues and comrades and collaborators, not competition.

I want to live in a world where art is respected, where creativity is prized and artists are valued.

This is my vision.
