The Working Artist has served artists worldwide for over a decade

Since 2013, The Working Artist has helped thousands of artists in 80+ countries move from doubt to sustainable creative practices. Founded by Crista Cloutier — a former international art dealer, certified arts appraiser, and advocate for underrepresented artists — The Working Artist provides education, community, and practical tools for artists at every stage.

Crista’s work has been recognized globally: a LinkedIn Influencer in Contemporary Art, Fellow of the RSA, and 2025 recipient of the French Academy’s Gold Medal for her work with artists.

Her career includes representing blue-chip international artists, placing work in major US institutions, and championing voices often excluded from the art world. The Smithsonian's Archives of American Art now houses her professional files — a testament to decades of opening doors for artists.
